What is Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Therapeutic ultrasound is a specialized form of treatment that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to penetrate deep into the body's tissues. These sound waves produce gentle heat, which helps increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the healing process. This provides a micro-massage effect! This type of ultrasound is different to the kind that is often used to look at your baby during pregnancy.

The best thing is that is works quickly so we are expecting a quick response time- if there are persisting issues than we would also encourage a follow up with your GP. Antibiotics have been often used to manage mastitis however this is only ideal for Bacterial Mastitis and/or an abscess. Therefore if we can manage the inflammation component of the mastitis spectrum, we are hoping to reduce your need to take antibiotics as well!
